Our specialty is small family firms that offer over-performing wines and exceptional value. Grower Champagnes, sparkling wines and decades-old Riojas are a particular area of emphasis for us.

About WineWise Partner and Benicia resident, Martin Reyes, Master of Wine

A first-generation American, Martin holds the world’s most prestigious wine title, Master of Wine, and is one of only 418 Masters worldwide (with Benicia having one!). He has built a diverse career over two decades, earning awards in many wine sectors as a director, educator, judge, and writer. In 2015, he was named one of Wine Enthusiast’s 'USA Top Forty-Under-Forty Tastemakers' for his work managing wine club programs at The New York Times, Food & Wine Magazine, and Williams-Sonoma.

 Other highlights include becoming the first Master of Wine of Mexican descent, winning Best Paper at Vienna’s 2019 AAWE Conference for his research in consumer purchasing behavior, twice making one of Wine & Spirits Magazine’s 'US Best Cabernets', twice named an Industry Leader by Wine Business Monthly, co-hosting a James Beard-awarded podcast, winning an international wine sustainability writing contest, and co-founding two significant nonprofit initiatives focused on social equity (WineUnify.org) and climate action (Napa RISE Symposium). Today, Martin runs WineWise LLC from his condo near the marina, and according to his close friends, makes one of the greatest espressos in town. Most importantly, he’s a father of two—and, by extension, a seasoned dad joke veteran.
